Access Directions to Montgauzy Hill
The Chapelle Notre Dame de Montgauzy is perched upon the Montgauzy promontory overlooking the town of Foix. Visitors traveling by public transit or personal vehicle can follow these simple instructions:
- By Rail / Public Transit: Arrive at the Foix SNCF railway station (Gare de Foix). The chapel is situated approximately 20 minutes on foot via the pedestrian bridge across the Ariège river and up the marked walking path.
- By Car: From Toulouse or Pamiers, follow the RN 20 south toward Foix. Exit at the central Foix interchange and follow signs toward Montgauzy. Municipal public parking is available at the base of the hill near Rue Saint-Vincent.
- Pedestrian Walking Trail: A clearly signposted, gently graded footpath winds through the woodland terraces, offering panoramic vistas of the Pyrenees before reaching the sanctuary gates.
